We have the paint made at a local store in a 1/2 pint and then they transfer it in to 2 spray paint cans. Then you will need to get a can of clear. All in all it is about $100 but same paint as what the body shop uses and is durable.
any local auto paint store should be able to mix a can of spray paint for you. All they need is the paint color off of the car. 1 can cost me $8.00. I also got a small can of liquid paint. Total price was about $15.00.
Thanks guys for the info. How about a couple more questions. I want to paint my windshield cowl and the C6 Z06 splash guards. Would these pieces need primer or anything else before paint?
Whatever you do, dont get the spray can stuff from the dealer. It is a horrible match. The cap looks like the perfect color.........until you spray it on something. It looks more like a flourescent yellow than MY. A real **** poor quality paint. 79U I believe is the code. I tried to spray my fuse box cover and luckly I tried the little cover that is held on by the lanyard and only ruined that.
Get it professionally mixed and you'll be much happier. Take it from someone who has been down that road.

I don't know if you are going to believe this or not, but I shopped all over looking for the right paint to paint my fuel rail covers to match my Millennium Yellow car. I ended up buying the yellow spray paint from Krylon called Fusion. It is made especially for painting plastic parts. I cleaned my fuel rail covers, washed them with TSP and let them dry. I then lightly sanded any imperfections on them. I applied about three or four coats of the Fusion paint, and then used a paint pen to accent the lettering. They look Fabulous, and I get many compliments from fellow Vette owners about how close a match they are to the original paint. I just let them be the natural satin color, but if you wanted them to be glossy, you could spray a clear coat on them. They are not a perfect match, but very close. And the paint only costs $3.99 a can just about anywhere. Give it a try! Do the same for your battery cover and what else you want that is a plastic part! Preparation is the key!
