Does anyone use / recommend this? We are getting ready to store the Vette finally, it's been a really good winter in Jersey, but now it's done til spring.
But my dad picked up some Fuel Tank Stabilizer his brother told him about, its pink fluid in a bottle. It is so that when you store the car, you don't have to drain the tank...
What you guys think? Yes or no? What should we be doing to get the Vette ready for storage... All we have right now is this and a battery stabilizer.
Yes, I've used it in carbureated cars which were stored for six months. It started right up in the spring. I'm assuming you're talking about STA-BIL which is what I use.
I personally use STA-BIL in my vette, lawnmower, weed whacker etc.
It works, and I've never had a problem in ten years. Spring time all of my toys start up just fine.

I use Sta-Bil when I store my car. Gas tends to go stale after about 60 days so if you are going to store it for that long or longer, its cheap insurance.
SeaFoam also works great. I switched from Sta-bil several years ago, and have had no regrets. I also like the extra benefit of SeaFoam as a fuel system cleaner.
I was reading the directions and it says one once per 2 and 1/2 gallons of fuel for seasonal storage...
Am I just suppose to fill up the tank so I know how much fuel is actually in there? Or how do I know how many gallons are actually in the tank, Im at about 75% full right now...
Pretty dumb question, but I realized I had no clue how much to put in when I was about to do it
I use it in everything also.. I wouldnt worry about putting a little extra in. It wont hurt anything, at least not in my experience. I usually am a little heavy handed with it.
You should fill the tank when you store a car for awhile. It prevents moisture build up in the tank. I have a Vette and a Mustang Cobra and I fill both of them up before storage and use one small bottle of Sta-Bil in each. I also use a Battery Tender on each car to maintain the battery. No problems in the spring. The Sta-Bil can be bought at an Auto Zone if you have one. Most auto parts store will have it.
