I tried the spray on bra by Dupli-Color last weekend on my trip to Amarillo, TX.
First I washed the car real good to make sure I wasn't spraying over dead bugs.
Putting it on was no problem. I taped up the parking lights and brake ducts and then put a couple of strips of blue tape on the hood. To have a straight line across. Took about 30 minutes. I took my time and let it dry a little between coats. The can says it dries in a minute but it was a little cold so waited a little longer. Sprayed about 3 coats on it.
I did a great job on the bugs. I have not washed it off yet but I can tell it is definetly going to be easier to wash the bugs off. I will wash it off tomorrow to see how easy it comes off. I have actually wiped it off of a few spots with a cloth without any problem.
The only thing you have to watch out for is that some body doesn't switch the caps. The can doesn't tell what color, you are supposed to go by the cap color. I thought I was getting clear but it is grey. Still doesn't look too bad but I would rather have had the clear.
Thanks for posting. Could you tell if it gave any protection from rock chips?
The can did not advertise rock chip protection as a benefit but me personal opion is that it helped some. I even sprayed on the panel directly behind the front wheels. I think it did help.
I used it on a road trip last summer. Dried bugs washed off very easy. I normally use my stretch mask around home when the bugs are out.
I usually do too; however, I have been having headlight problems lately and didn't want to have to keep taking the bra off to open the hood and make the headlights work. It's a long way from Las Cruces to Amarillo and then to Oklahoma City in one day and didn't want the hassle. This was much nicer. I may actually continue to use it and not go back to the stretch bra, no scratches from dirt getting under it.
