Flickering Headlights
Quick question for all of you out there.
I have a 1997 and I am having a small situation..at night when my headlights are on and I hit the brakes my lights dim slightly and then come back up to full brightness. It is not enought to make the raod dark but it is noticable. And I see the flicker in my dash lights.
My charge gauge is at normal and the dash display says 13.8 volts, so please shed some light on this for me.

If it happens more in the spring then I'll try to get it figured out..
Anyway -- I don't want to hijack this thread from the original poster..
I wonder what could cause the problem when stepping on the brakes..?
Bad battery maybe?

From what I understand they all do it. It's just a momentary slight dim and returns to normal afterwards.
Every C5 owner I've spoken to has mentioned this.
Falls into the same category as hearing the noise when shutting the engine off in a M6 without the clutch depressed.

Clean and tighthen your battery connections. Do not use more than 11 ft-lbs or your battery could leak.
If this doesn't fix it, clean your grounds. I believe the ground for the headlights is located on the passenger fender, it is a plastic connector.
