Default Need help on Halltech CAI installation

Bought my Halltech CAI off a forum member so it's used, no instructions, and I'm about ready to call it quits......

Ok, not really......but it is cold outside and since I can't get my Z in the garage I have an awning up to keep any rain off.

So what's the deal....is there something else I'm missing ???
Does part of the radiator shroud / cover come off ?

I can't see how this thing works - isn't the filter supposed to rest right directly behind the front license plate support ?

Please post pics if ya got 'em......they work better than words.
Thanks in advance.

Okay, I'm retarded.......the guy supplied (2) air bridges.

Anyhow, where should I put the MAF sensor ? I noticed the MAF housing is a smaller diameter than the filter.
Do most of you put it by the filter or near the throttle body ?

Hi verskel -

Do you have a TRAP or a TRIC or the older style intake?

Sounds like you have a TRAP, since the trap setup uses two pipes that look like airbridges.

One takes the place of the stock airbridge, the other routes from the maf down and under the front cross member.

The filter is behind the license plate inside the fascia.

I opened up the bottom of the fascia and installed the filter up through the bottom and connected it with the lower tube and snugged up the clamp, then hooked it to the maf, then worked the airbridge into place and lined it all up before tightening all the clamps.

Here is a pic of my trap installed - you can see the black carbon fiber lower tube running down under the cross-member -

The link above my post is to the TRIC intake which does not use the lower "airbridge" tube, instead just hangs the filter in the location of the (removed) stock airbox.

best regards -

Would be helpful if you post a pic of the Halltech parts you have.

The installation instructions will vary if you have the Trap or the Tric.

If it's the Tric, I can email you a pdf of the original install instructions AND the template needed for properly cutting the shroud.

WoW....tons of help ! ...and special thanks to USMUSCL, a forum member who sold me the parts.

Trap vs. Tric : here's what I got and with the picture referrences, it seems like I now have it installed correctly.

I haven't done a 'test run' yet as the cold weather / icy conditions will need to clear up first.

For learning purposes, I'm posting pics of the extra part. Is this an extra 'air bridge' ? ........sure looks like one to me.

Thanks guys !
