THUMBS UP to AFR!!!
Just an update:
I purchased a USED set of AFR 205 heads here on the Forum 3 - 4 months ago, and I was going to install them on my '01 - prior to installing them, the issue of possible soft valve stems in some (ie: very few) AFR heads came to light.
I emailed / called Tony Mamo of AFR, and explained that I purchased a USED set of AFR 205 heads, that I didn't know how old they were, and that I had not yet installed them on my car and I had NOT experienced any problems w/ the heads -
However, I told Tony that IF POSSIBLE, I would like AFR to look at my heads prior to my installing them, just to ensure that there were no valve stem problems (soft valve's) - Tony gave me AFR's UPS account number, told me to ship them back to AFR and the heads would be inspected and repaired if required.
AFR paid for shipping AND INSURANCE to them (even though I didn't buy the heads new), and they paid for shipping them back to me - ALL at NO COST TO ME!! I just got my heads back today after about a 3 week turnaround (holiday's included)
My hat is off to AFR and Tony Mamo for WONDERFUL customer support and for standing behind their product!!!!!! Very few companies would stand behind a used product the way AFR did. BIG THANKS AGAIN!! I'm really looking forward to getting the heads on in the next week or so!
