He's from my hometown area... Fargo, ND - Moorhead, MN. Saw him in the mid nineties at Kirby's The Corner That Rocks in Moorhead when he was 14. Back then he was billed as Kid Johnny Lang & The Big Bang. Saw him four years later open up for The Stones at the Fargodome... crazy. Talented for sure! Oh yeah, I think his old man owned a C5.
Peace.

Lang's first two albums were great but he has gone down hill from that point. If you like Lang...give a listen to Kenny Wayne Shepard......I think you will like him at least as much. Don't get me wrong, I am still a JL fan but he has to step up the quality of his songs a bit....IMO..Also, for you Blues guys...try to find a group named Indigenous.....truly awesome....Just my $.02.....
A little known blues player that is closer to the Stevie attitude is Chris Duarte. A lot of players can play the licks but Stevie created a unique sound within blues. Sure you can hear other players before him in his music, but you can instantly recognize his sound.
Reincarnation or ripoff artist? By the way I loved Lang's first album.
