Check engine light on - fuel code - leaky gas cap ?
Well, the dang light came back on again. 
A loose cap tripped it the first time 2 weeks ago. Then a few days later the light came on again. After getting the codes read, I inspected the gas cap and found a hairline break in the gasket. To get me by I greased the gasket with a very thin layer of vaseline and cleared the codes. It worked for about 3-days until the light appeared again. Just bought a new cap a few days ago but the light never went off. Do I need to 'clear' the codes again because of multiple bad readings ? Any suggestions ???
Any '01 Z06 owners have this problem ?!?

Yes you need to completly clear the codes. The evap. code will trigger anytime the gas cap is not tightened all the way. We get plenty of old ladies at the shop with this problem bc they never get it tight enough.
