Default Any links for wetsanding?

My car has alot of swirl marks in the clear coat that are visible when the sun hits it at the right angle ( it looks bad ) and im looking to get them worked out, im assuming wetsanding the entire car will do this for me?

Anyone have any tips or links to how to wetsand a car properly?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Paul

You might want to search the "Car Care" section under General Corvette.

If you wish to eliminate excessive swirl marks, wetsanding isn't the solution. Wetsanding will remove some and/or eliminate orange peel. That said, to remove swirl marks:

1. Wash the car with dawn dish soap (to eliminate any wax etc.

2. Clay bar the car.

3. Buff the paint with a high speed buffer on low with a soft foam pad. I'd use a white Lake Country pad and 3M swirl remover. see http://www.topoftheline.com/7durvelpad.html

4. Polish the paint with a black pad and Menerza final polish II. see http://www.properautocare.com/menfinpol.html

5. Finish by hand with a glaze and wax of your choice

There are many different approaches, pads, polishes etc. to use, bottom line, you have to go from gradually from aggressive to less aggressive etc. To be safe, keep the speed down but that means it'll take you longer. After each step you take, check the car in direct sunlight. And always use a pad and polish together, label your pads and keep them in their original bags.

They are right check with the car care section, but here is my 2 cents, get a Porter Cable, some orange, and some white foam pads, a good polish, I only use Menzerna, Intensive polish(usually orange pad) and Final polish(white pad) and have at it, here are a few pics I did for a friend on his 64 vert that was in storage for many years, granted this car took about 10 to 12 hours to complete,it was BAD, but the results were fantastic, the whole car was pretty much like the before pics
