I have one on my excursion and love it. Have also had it on a 98 diesel dodge and a 03 tahoe. Great for daily driver just for show on a vette that is not driven when cold...But for a daily driven vette woukd be great...
if you do, you'd definitely want to have a neutral switch. Then you have to deal with the really weak C5 parking brake. For manual C5, it's not worth the trouble IMO
You'll find that the company that makes the "viper" makes just about all remote starts. DEI seems to be buying up all the competition. Good product. You can still find some shops that will install them on manuals. I will not.
The day I picked up my DD, I stopped on the way home to have a CompuStar installed. Had extra relays installed for frount door windows express down and sun roof open. Really made it more than a remote start and I use it every day.
Also have one on wifes Van. Just remote start.
I never thought it necessary for the Vette. But I do use the window valet every time I drive it.
Some are now made for manuals.
We've had remote starters in our last 5 daily drivers; just love it. I've inmstalled them all; some were easy... some were not. I only use units made by www.Bulldogsecurity.com... for no reason other than I'm already familiar with them.
I'd suggest the model 200 (without alarm) and the model 500 with alarm.
