So Ive finally saved enough dough to purchase a big power mod for my 97 c5, I was interesed in doing a twin turbo set up but I am afraid I will have to start going into the internals of the motor and up grading the cam, fuel injectors ect,...is there anyone out there that has ran a twin turbo set up on a stock ls1??? The practical thing i saw out there was a procharger kit, I know you cant compare it to a twin turbo set up but im sure that'll due the trick for me, anything with a good 100-150rwhp increase will do, my only concern here is will i have to upgrade the engines internals if im running a procharger kit probaly with about 10psi, also once installed can you use a personal programmer to tune it, or does it need to be tuned up on a dyno?

The twin turbo systems and the pro charger make about the same HP levels. Either way that you may go, I would suggest going with Forged internals for 10 PSI. You could get away with using the stock internals but with that boost level they wont last long. The fuel injectors will have to be replaced and it is a good idea to get a intank fuel pump or inline to help.
Camshafts are optional but you will make more power with one. Right now I have a Pro charger P1SC on both my camaro and my 01 Z06. They have stock internals. The vette is at the normal 7 PSI boost level. It does have 42LB injectors. My 2000 Camaro also has the same injectors, and a comp cams camshaft, fuel pump, inline pump, fuel rails etc. Since I am on stock internals with the Camaro I upgraded the Rod bolts to ARP since I am at 10 to 12 PSI at 100% throttle. I also used a the ATI Pro charger Pin kit to pin the crank. The motor wont take much more and is at the breaking point and has been for 3 years.
Yes dyno tuning is a must to get the Air Fuel ratio correct so you dont run lean/ or get blow by and blow the motor up. Or run to rich and wash out the cylinder walls.
Not only that but shift points if you have a auto. The timing will neeed to be corrected as well as idle speed, intake air temps, knock etc. There is alot that goes into a setup like this and tuning is a must. A personal tuner wont do it.
I reccomend a wide band go on the car for the Air fuel. Usually LS1 edit is used for tuning. If you have the software I wouldnt try to tune the car yourself as one wrong move and Boom goes the motor.

The car will last if tuned right, with FI eveything is in the tune. Spend the money and have someone who knows what they are doing get everything dialed in correctly, and youll know how much power you have put down.
I would recomend a meth kit just for added security.
supercharging give you more power in the lower end. Turbos don't kick in until later in the RPM spectrum, but their power will carry you all the way to redline.
For overall performance I prefer the TT setup, but it's ALOT more work than a basic supercharger. Most centrifugal or roots style superchargers are relativly easy to install compared to turbos. Some SC can be installed with common tools.
I'd upgrade the heads, Cam, rotating assembly and valvetrain before investing in forced induction of any kind but that's just IMO
