Default Drag Radials

ok... well it's about time to fix my traction issues and start leaving people behind... but i have a problem...

I DD my car rain, snow, and of course shine... so having tires that meet these needs are important.... So i've decided to buy a 2nd pair of rear wheels to mount with Nitto 555R's. So the question is...

17's or 18'..

17's i assume i'd get more bite... but 18's will yeild more rubber contact....

So what do you think? 17's or 18'?

Best set up I found so far is the MT drag radial 275 40 17 hooks up real good well beyond 400 RWHP. I have tried the Nittos and BFG in 17 and 18" sizes with not as good 60' times.

if you are only using the pair of wheels and tires for racing then i wouldn't waste the extra money on 18's. the wheels are more expensive as well as the tires. I would say get a pair of nitto or BFG 315's unless your car is heavily modded and you need something more, than MT et streets are the way to go.

I do the same thing with my wheels and tires, it seems though that once i put the radials on, its hard for me to take them back off! I much prefer having traction all the time when im cruising around... anyway thats just my way of looking at things.

hope that helps

I assume you will be driving on the Nittos full time in the good weather months? BFG or M/T are no good for this duty. I would go 17s, get a 17x11 grand sport wheel.

I really wish someone would come out with a 19" drag radial, but I don't think it will happen because of the sidewall height.
