Default Loudest catback that doesn't drone?

Here's a variation on the eternal "which catback" question. I've had stock, Z06 Tis, B&B Bullet two-tips on stock exhaust, and currently the Bullets with American Racing headers and pipes.

I've gotten to where I like how loud it is (pretty damn loud), and I like the tone of it. The drone is only bad between 1500-2000 and with a 6-speed I can shift around that. The only trouble is running at an 80 MPH cruise (on closed courses only, of course) in 5th gear is about 2600 rpm, and it's killing my gas mileage. Great throttle response, though. I can't shift to 6th below about 90 without getting into the serious drone band. Hmmm.

Ok, ok, so I'm running Bullets and headers, what did I expect? It's no surprise, really, but I never put together the 5th-gear-cruise-gas-mileage thing when I was considering these mods.

So now I don't want it any quieter, but might be willing to compromise in order to get my mileage back. In my experience the gas mileage doesn't get really good until you're down to about 1500 rpm. What's the loudest alternative catback that doesn't drone? I know Tis and Corsas are usually mentioned as the non-drone kings. Anybody else? If I were to go to Corsa Indys how loud would that be compared to the Bullets?

I can't compare the corsa Indy's to the Bullets or anything as I haven't heard those at WOT before, but I can compare them to the original SLP Loudmouth on our Head/Cam 93 T/A. The indy's rival the straight open Loudmouth at WOT. They're loud.

Loudest when? At idle, cruising, at WOT?

My Corsa Ti's are quite loud, and they don't drone at all. ...But I don't know if they're available anymore.

If you can find someone selling a set, I'd jump all over them if I were you!

what about rear end gears to take you out of that drone range? 3.90s should rasise your rpms a bit but keep them lower than 5th gear rpms currently are, or if 10mph makes that much of a difference 3.73s might just cut it for you. 3.73s won't give you as much seat of the pants difference though.

Are those a two-tip, or a 4-tip? And are they "normal" catbacks that bolt onto standard pipes, or do you have to use special pipes? I thought I remembered that those were a complete exhaust.

I've compared every system I could when I was looking to buy, and I decided on the Bassani system. I currently have them on all three of my C5's and wouldn't change them out for the love of money. They have a nice rumble at idle and a mean growl at WOT, and best of all no drone. I run their X-pipe also. I've run their system on head and cam vettes, vettes with headers, and now a SC vette with 427. The sound is great and the bassani guys are wonderful to work with.

4.10s are actually my most likely "fix" for this, as I do love the sound of the Bullets, but even then it might be nice to be able to cruise at a little lower RPM around town, so I thought I'd explore other options.

I have GHL Magnums with my LG headers and high flow cats - great deep rumble at idle, sounds powerful at WOT and no drone!
