If you go with GM extended warranty I am pretty sure you need to do it before your factory warranty runs out. Check with Ken F. to be sure.

I agree. Better prices than Fitchner by a significant amount. Ask for Jason. They are in Hammond, LA.

I don't have the number off hand but you can get it at www.rossdowningchevrolet.com I am not positive b/c its been a while since I bought my warranty but I think the guy's name is Jason Walter. As Striper pointed out, it is significantly cheaper than Fichter or anyone else for that matter.

My discussion with Dennis Fichter was left off with him saying he didn't know how they could possibly do it for those prices and he felt it wasn't true or somethign wasn't right. But it was true and the price difference as I recall was almost $300.

Just remember for any GM extended warranty, you just have to make sure there is at least a month left on the factory warranty to get one.

If you are still under the factory bumper to bumper (3yr/36Kmile) then you have to extend it before it expires.... if you are extending a GMPP extended warranty it has to be done I believe 3mos/3K miles prior to experation

Jason Walter, Ross Downing Chevrolet. 800-417-5162

Jason is great. Just bought a 6-year/60,000 mile GMPP with zero deductible from him. Saved way over $1,000 compared to my local dealer.

BTW, I paid $1,550 for a 3yr/36,000 GMPP extended warranty...a month later it paid for itself when my EBCM went out. Sweet!

Try your local dealer also. My local dealer was cheaper than any I could find on the internet.

I definitely agree to have your local dealer give you a quote. You can establish or re-establish a good working relationship with them (if you haven't already) by purchased the GMPP from them, and there is a good chance they might haggle a bit if you can quote lower prices elsewhere. That will also be my strategy.

This the gouge I got from the warrranty honey at my local GM dealer. According to her you can get the extended warranty right up to the last day before the original expires. She read that right out of the GM brochure. Just do it before it expires. She advised me to come in about 2 weeks before mine expires in April 2007. Also, if you have less then 24,000 miles on the car it gets a little cheaper. I got quoted $1,400 for a 3 year/30,000 mile and $1,600 for a 4 year/40,000 mile extended. How does that compare to Ross Downing?

Not sure about the prices.... I am currently on my GMPP warranty on my 2002 Z. I am going to be looking to extend it before experation in november of this year.
