The original C5 taillight screws are a torx head (#15 I think...), black anodized with a special tip and thread pitch. I doubt that you'll find them in a regular hardware store - but if you have one to match, you might find one at a place like McMaster-Carr.
Ace Hardware should have them. I remember reading where someone needed them and found them there.
Bought some stainless ones myself..I needed longer ones with the spacers I used on the lights! Screwed in fine..NO rust..had them on there for almost a year now.
