window tinting questions
Just got a new (relative term) 99 FRC. Totally way sweeter than my my 92 RS bitchin camaro. I live in Portsmouth NH and I want to get my windows tinted. I'm curious about what the going rate is. (what are you guys paying? and did it come out the way you were hoping? as in factory looking)
Also what is the biggest upgrade someone has done from their old car to their vette. I went from a 99 Zx2 escort and 91 miata to the 99 corvette.... I got to say I don't even know what to do with myself

First, congrats on the new ride.....sweet.....
Second I would check with the locals (z-bart other tinters) to see what the best charge is.
Third upgrades are called "mods" and it depends on what you want. The first thing I got was chrome z-06 rims. They are way better looking than the wagon wheels that are stock on your car. The next is exhaust. This car needs to breathe so the stock exhaust has to go. then some type of cold air induction for the intake. Again let it breathe. Next is long tube headers followed by a supercharger, custom interior, and then custom paint. Now by the time you get that all done, you will be divorced, broke but the coolest guy in the neighborhood. Now its time to upgrade to a c-6.........you get the picture.....welcome to the madness.......
PS. OK I didn't read the post correctly because I thought he was talking about upgrades ON the car.............I got it bad........

Tint
I paid about 130 for my tint all around. Limo tint in the hatch and two shades less on the front windows. It looks very nice but makes it hard to see at night. Make sure the person knows what he is doing. You dont what bubles or multiple pieces. Congrats on your car.

Just be certain that your state does not have a tinted window code section. In Iowa, you have to allow for 70% light to come thru the front drivers and passenger doors, which is virtually the factory tint. The remaining windows you can darken to whatever you want.

I own a tint shop and have been at business for over 17 years. Where we live we charge 160.00 back window all in one piece. Everything we do is in one piece,,,,...I have 20% all around. Laws around here state 40% front doors , 32% back doors, and 18%rear window...LEGAL haha , thats why im call OUTLAW2000VETTE......good luck ..
