I never said goodbye ...
I spent about five months on this forum before a 17 year old made an illegal turn into the path of my '01 vert and totaled it. The accident sent me and my buddy to the hospital for four days and months of rehab and recovery. My buddy had a fractured arm and five fractured ribs, I had 12 staples in my scalp and a shattered ankle (talus bone and medial malleleous) that I'm still recovering from. I spent three months in a wheelchair non weight bearing, then to crutches, a cane and I'm finally able to hobble along without a walking aid. If you remember Walter Brennan in the old Real McCoys TV show, well, that's how I'm walking now. Fortunately, the boys in the other vehicle were not injured.
I originally planned to buy a later model C5, but the C6s were so close in price that I eventually worked my way up to a new '07 Monterrey Red vert that I'm finally able to drive and enjoy very much. I want to thank you guys and gals for teaching me more about my C5 than I ever knew about my previous C2 and C3s. I've moved on to the C6 Forum and hope to see some of y'all there someday soon. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.
I know from personal experience how painful your broken talus is (I shattered mine and now have two pins in it). Hope you recover fully and enjoy the C6.
