Default 0-60 lengths

hey guys on a stock a4 99 vette what would I expect to be the 0-60 length to be?

I know the 0-60 time is like 4.8 on an ideal day.. but looking for roughly how many feet it would take to get to that..

total guess... 193 feet. just assuming constant acceleration (which i know is not right)... you have to accelerate .57g's to get to 60mph in 4.8 sec.

At that rate, in 4.8 seconds, you should cover 193 feet.

I have no idea how close that is going to be.

another reference point... 60 foot times are about 2 seconds.

so over the first 60 feet, you're pulling .64 g's (it tapers off a little as you get closer to 60). If you were able to maintain .64 g's, in 4.8 seconds, you'd get to 67 mph at 146 feet.

So I don't think that 193 foot number is gonna be that far off.

my brain hurts

can you figure out 0-60 from a 60 foot? If so my best was 1.46

i think ur thinking of 60 foot times.. not 0mph to 60mph. I know Ive been to the track and my 1/8th mile is only 81ish mph.. so what ive done is taken that referenced it to the 660 feet needed in an 1/8th mile.

here is what i have now.. a proportion xft/660ft X 60mph/80mph and im getting 490ish feet.. which is 75% of the 1/8th mile

this is for just some mathematical information i need inorder to prove something

No... I'm pretty sure it takes 60 feet to get to your 60 foot times

It doesn't work linearly like that. Your rate of acceleration drops significantly at you increase your speed. Just think of it, at 1/8, you're already doing 81, in the next 1/8, you only gain 27 mph.
