Default intake dilemma

is there any air intake system other than a TRUE ram air set up that is any better than just a simple zip tie mod? i think zip tie with a K&N would be just as good as anything that dosent have a ram air scoop. any thoughts or proof out there?

No.

But the Blackwing is much more graceful..

Oh, and the argument can be made that the surface area of such a filter is much larger and less restrictive (or more unrestrictive-ish ).

Judgement call...

The flip mod is more of a ram air setup and will yield more hp when moving fast. Most regular air induction systems are about the same. Now you can modify a regular air induction system by cutting out the radiator cover to get the ram air effect. There are threads out there about this.

Hmmm, maybe a larger filter with an air bridge and coupler would be a bit more affective that just the zip tie mod. I had the zip tie mod and went to the VORTEK RAMMER and there was a larger difference. I left the large cut out that is in my shroud and went with the BLACKWING and noticed a bit more throttle response than the VORTEK and now I have the HALTECH STINGER and it is perfect, the look, the performance and styling. That is my .02 on this topic.

Many people have posted the best results with the Vararam, nothing outperforms it.
