Battery Trickler Question

Default Battery Trickler Question
Living is an area that gets a lot of snow, I have put the vette in the garage for storage. Purchased a battery trickler, but don't know if I should put the negative cable on the negative battery post OR ground it via the frame

Let me know your opinion

It also depends on the type of battery you have...a lead acid battery will out gas whereas an OPTIMA will not. Connecting to other than the battery itself is suggested to avoid the potential explosion of the out gas.

if you're battery is a 'negative grounded battery' , which i believe it should be...

than you attach your negative clamp to your frame etc...

(atleast that's what my 'floater' charger advises in the manual)

I hook up my maintainer directly to the battery posts. I thing it's suggested that when you hook up the battery, put the positive clamp on first. When unhooking take the positive off last.

I hope you meant a float charger, not a trickle charger....

Mine is a floater and it tells you not to clamp on the battery, just any unpainted metal. It should tell you in the directions.
