Default Verdict on EE frame rails

Well, I was part of the EE frame rail group buy, actually I received them last week but didn't have the time to install them.
I don't know what you guys are smokin' about the EE frame rails being good and all. They're not what you say they're all cracked up to be .
Actually from my point of view they're "GREAT" - ha psyched .
To me this is one of the best Vette products out there. I wished I thought about this product before, I would've been rolling in dough by now.
Thanks EE and Jeff for such a greeat product
For those who didn't order- you don't know what your missing. I attached a few pics. Sorry for the big pics

I agree whole heartedly. A well engineered product that was well thought out and "fits like a glove" unlike some other bolt ons that require "tweeking" Thanks for another great Vette mod from Jeff at Elite.

I still haven't installed mine yet
Even tho I already got A&A frame rails, these EE would save me a bunch of time lifting my car which I do that oftenly
Great product!

How did yours fit? My drivers side didn't line up correctly over the dimple toward the front. I also put some 1/8" rubber squares between the frame and the rail to close up the very slight gap. Thought it may rattle with out it, had a 1/16" or so gap. Other than that no problems.

Sorry, I haven't been online all day yesterday. Fit was fine, holes lined up pretty good. I haven't driven the car yet because after I installed it, it started to snow and it looks like I won't be able to drive it again for another couple of weeks. I didn't follow all the instructions though. They recommended using loc-tite on the bolts, but I didn't, guess we'll see if they hold up without the loc-tite. I know about the gap in the front. Didn't care much about it because it was pretty stiff after you install all 4 bolts, but we'll see.

I have the EE version and they make lifting my car so easy. Just raising the car used to be a chore, but now with my EE frame rails and a low profile jack, it couldn't be easier. Well, it could if I had a lift but I don't think that's gonna happen.

OK, I've searched the vendor list and googled "EE frame rails" without success.

Where can these be purchased??

Thanks.

And that's exactly right. Something so simple. Something that would, without a shadow of a doubt, virtually eliminate all the headaches associated with the worries of having someone properly lift the Corvette would be eliminated if GM would do this.

Sometimes I wonder what the engineers in these car companies really do.

Don't answer that. I know...........they try to find ways to increase the bottom line by having customers replace expensive parts because they were the ones who didn't do their jobs right.

Sorry, don't get me wrong. I REALLY enjoy my '03. It's such a blast to drive but I had to vent a bit.

/rant off.

P.S. This just gave me an idea for a post. Hopefully no one's done anything similar recently.

Jeff, GREAT product!! I scrapped my A&A ones for these. Now you just need to machine a matching pad to slip over the jack stand supports:

Either that, or sell your own jack stands with something like that welded or cast into the upright.

Just read this post & as a result of extremely positive feedback for Elite's products, I've just ordered Frame Rails & Frame Guards for the C5 I pick up in a few weeks.
Can't wait!
Good luck Elite Engineering.

Question???

The pad where you jack the car appear in the pics to extend about 1/2" below the rocker panel. Is there the possibility that this edge could maybe catch on a speed bump or something?
