Make sure you properly seated the bulb in the housing first.

Sounds like it is not seated properly. Be sure that it is locked in position before you adjust the beam.

Don't ask me how I know

I don't know for sure, but my 3000gt has ***** to manually raise the headlights in case the motor fails. They may be for that.

I know you adjust the actual housing that the light assembly is held on by. I am not sure how to do so. Sorry bud.

I need to know the procedure for this too - my passenger side low beam is aimed way off what the high-beam is. I have tried different bulbs and made sure that they are all seated properly...

When you adjust the alignment of the housing, you adjust both low and high beam.If one of the bulbs is out of alignment alot, the problem is with that bulb.As for the question of how do set the alignment, there is a vertical and horizontal adjustment. It takes a torx socket. The vertical adjuster is under the housing.Raise the hood and adjust from the inside of the housing. The adjuster is about 3 inches long with a torx head. the angle is slightly downward towards the fender. The horizontal adjustment is behind the black plug on the plastic cover on the headlight housing, towards the center of the car. This is the same plastic cover you take off to change the bulbs.Easy to see this adjuster, sticks out about half an inch.

the overall adjustment is the easy part.

there has to be a way to adjust the high/low seperately - I have just been too lazy to pull the headlight assembly out and take a look for myself.

You cannot adjust seperately. If one of the two bulbs is way off alignment, that bulb is not installed correctly. It is easy to install the bulb with one of the tabs on the bulb not in the slot of the housing. One of my low beams took 5 installations to get it right.Good luck.

I get what you are saying, and unless I would have fought this problem myself would have agreed completely. Because of that I have tried the bulbs back and fourth from one side to the other, and have even tried new bulbs. I check every time that the locking tabs are correctly seated and have even compressed the metal tabs prior to installation to make sure they are holding tightly.

I have the light adjusted to where the lows are perfect, but when I kick the highs on the passenger side is spotting aircraft...

I keep telling myself to not worry about it cause I am going with C5R lights before too long - but it's damn annoying right now...

I had real "issues" with headlight aim when I got my car (the dealership wasn't much help) I bought the inverted torx to adjust them myself and using the garage door got them within acceptable patterns. Do a search to get the procedure. However both high and low "bulbs" are in a common housing and cannot be adjusted independentely.
