Default American Racing Header Install

First off I would like to extend many thanks to Chris (Stangkiller), Steve (Florida), Stephen (EnglandGreen) and, Steve (Steve@CTCorvette) for all the help with this project.

Here are some pics of the header install that took place at Chris's house:

Took the intake manifold off to remove the AIR system

Chris removed the passenger side valve cover to make a little extra room for the headers to slide in

Passenger side in

Drivers side in

X-Pipe installed

Mid-pipes installed

EG doing what he does best....not working and taking pictures

Mid-pipes bolted up to the Bullets.

Here are some pictures of Stephen's new project ... Grond2

And then Chris and I finally convinced Stephen to go to the Rolex 24 and he was so excited when he got there that this happened....

Just did this install on a buddy's Z. You guys dropped them in from the top? I did it from the bottom on jack stands, very easy, very easy.

Glad things went well, enjoy the new setup, Bryan (tempered6) sure is.

Drivers side went in from the bottom with no problem and the passenger side went in from the top with the starter unbolted and the valve cover removed.

I was initially going to do that, but attempted from the bottom and it slipped in with little problem. Overall the install was easy.

Cool to see that you got some good people helping out down there, those guys are great with these cars aren't they?

Stephen, don't forget to transfer those pretty red valve stem caps over to the new Z wheels.

Looks good Jason, how does it run now??

As I saw this pic, I just realised that Grond isn't low enough, Nouman. Ordered my custom shortened lower radiator mount from ECS today. With the charge tube tucked in - I can get the front down another 3/4 inch or so, and the back can come down another inch with the tubs

It runs pretty good. I have a small leak under the car that I am going to try to fix today and the car needs to be tuned a little.

While working on the car I decided to take a educational pic for you Tom....
This is what plug wires should look like when removed from the car

Jason, it was no problem at all, i enjoyed it! Nouman...man, that U-Haul brings back some memories.

Stephen was mesmerized by Jason's car. It's been months and months and months since he's seen underneath a working corvette.

Nice pictures of the install and mine were put in with a lift so really plenty of room and quick install. Passenger side was the tighest of the two but no issue and I did supervise as ususal, because Arnold does his work without much assistance
