Garage Truss
Is there such a thing as a Garage Truss, which has a cavity in the middle so you can use a storage lift and the top of the door (windshield, roof, etc.) can fit into the cavity. Looking for a source and pictures.
Trying to avoid 11 foot plus ceilings in a garage.

You might be thinking of a scissors truss (scan for this on the net). If you have say a 24' garage depth and roof peak rise of 6' from the walls, you would gain appx 3' of ceiling height inside as extra space. I was looking to build a garage with 9' exterior walls and let the cab of my vette fit in the center where there is extra space.

I work for a truss company. You can get them anyway you want. All you will have to do is probably increase your ply count to carry more the load. No big deal there. Got any specs? Maybe wall dimensions and a shape, maybe even an ultimate height? I may be able to draw you something up with ACAD

Thanks for the offer of the drawing but, I am just in the planning stages.
My current garage is 10' 6" and the Vette is stored on the lift for the winter. Looking to add a garage addition to the retirement home in the next 12-18 months.
