Default removing cats

Hey guys. I am a new owner of a 2000 C5. Heres my question, is removing the cats and welding in pipes in their place the way to go? I've owned mustangs in the past and have been able to purchase an offroad x pipe which deletes the cats. Is this an option with a vette? I also have some concern with the fuel system being out of whack do to the removal of the cats. Any help you guys have would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan

yes you can, you will have to tune it for the 02 sensor to read right after you remove the cats if you want it to run right and to keep the engine light off. Alot of us have removed our cats when installing long tube headers and off road pipes.

actually I left mine in with LTs and Xpipe and Borlas. No CEL or smell. Probably want to fill out your profile next time you check your messages.

Yes, you can also get an off-road x-pipe for the 'vette. But it's easier to do it when you get headers. Ask me how I know......
