Thanks for bringing this to our attention... I gave him the red coupler through the "pay it forward" thread.

Also, Mr Rare 98 vette - what you have done has much larger impact than just a few of us mad at you ... it makes everyone that has ever been involved with - or ever might think they want to be involved with - the 'pay it forward' thread to be sceptical about being part of it. The thread was, and is, supposed to be a 'forum thing' where vette owners can help other vette owners out with a feeling of good will towards men. will we ever really know the fall out that this has caused? I dont know... it's too bad.

While the parts you recieved are yours to do with as you please, they were given to you under the pretense that you needed them for your vette - to make your vette experience a better experience. So, Manny, sell the parts if you want to. Just remember where they came from and people here will remember you for quite a while.

Sad day at the Forum...

Again I say I have offered the part back to Molson. I did the same on the pay it forward with the same intentions. But I guess that if you and the other members want to judge me by 1 misstake I guess then thats your right .But sure doesn't say alot for the so called good nature of this past-time. So I guess I'll just leave.

Don't know if you can call that a "mistake".

It sounds as if it was a deliberate attempt to get someone to feel sorry for you so you could con them out of something to make a buck on.

The post above is correct. The next time "Pay if forward" comes up, we'll all remember what you did. We'll all be reluctant to be played for a sucker. "Owning up" to something that could potentially harm others in the future doesn't fix anything.

But I'm not going to berate you and call you names. I'm not going to tell you to buy a ricer. What I will tell you though, is that you just don't understand what this forum is about and what the people here consider to be a Corvette brother.

See? That's exactly what I'm talking about. You have no idea how many posts or what any of us have done for others. You just assume that you've made a bigger sacrifice than anyone else has. Like I said, you just don't get it.

Yes, I feel a bit righteous. I've never done something like that nor would I. It would just never occur to me.

But as for this being your last post here...somehow, I don't think you'll be missed.

I am really upset about this situation. What you have really done is really put alot of distrust into online transactions. I see this as a scam that went bad and that your are trying to cover up as a mistake. Trust is such a huge thing the internet. I am proud to be a member here and hope that this is just a isolated thing. I have put alot of trust in this fourm and for the most part i have not been let down. This fourm is how i found my car, i flew from minnesota to mississippi to go get the car. To me that takes alot of trust of people. If this is the way that your are going do things here, no one will ever trust you again. i really can't talk for everyone here but i really think the best thing you can do is just to leave and never come back to the fourm. Cause I really don't think that this fourm has any need for people that would do something so dishonest as this. SHAME ON YOU, AND DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE AZZ

A truely sincere apology can in many cases repair damage while, justifing ones actions where there truly is no justifications only leads to more damage. Just my .02

I've given parts away, helped with installs, and have had parts given to me, and have had help installing stuff, i've even done electrical work in members houses and not charged, just because of the vette thing. I'd be pretty bummed/pizzed if i found out a donated part was sold, or labor was charged on something that I showed someone how to do. By calling it a mistake shows that the person doesn't understand how serious this is. It surely isn't as bad as rape/murder, but it undermines the trust that has developed between members who do not know each other personally, just by forum membership. Everytime you pay it forward, now in the back of your mind, you might be thinking......hmmm what if....

Its been given away to old stingray.
Now lets not let your paranoid delusion's cloud your judgement . Like I said I made a mistake. Nothing more. No justification ,no scam, no evil plan.
