For the past 6 months or so I've been having to top-off my clutch resevour every couple of weeks on my '98 stick. (Not a daily driver by the way) Well yesterday I got in and the clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed there. I topped off the fluid again, tried pumping the pedal up and down. Nothing. No pressure at all. Pedal just stays on the floor. I'm a computer guy not a mechanic. I did a search on this forum and only found some non-related issues. Do I need a new Master cylinder for my clutch? Is there a easy way to rid any air in the lines? Also, what is the purpose of the rubber liner in the clutch fluid resevour anyway? Are you supposed to remove that when you fill it up? Need some advice. Thanks, Mike.

Hydraulics going south have a tenancy have the pedal stay to the floor. You very well could have air in te sytem and would have to bleed that out. The rubber liner can stay in or out while you add fluid. Otherwise im not the best with clutches.
