Default headers

Iam currently thinking about putting long tube headers on my 2000 6sp. how much horse power would i expect with keeping the stock cats and mufflers? How much if i change the whole exhaust system?

Headers and highflow cats and my GHLs got me about 45 RWHP gain , and the sound is great !
Edit , the guy below states gains from tune and I did have mine tuned at the header instal , and my dyno was 345 , and I am not sure what stock would have been....

It depends upon the year and engine. I've read in GM HiTech that the LS6 can expect around a 9 RWHP gain but the earlier LS1 engines as much as 12 - 15 RWHP. TPIS advertises 12 RWHP. I haven't seen claims from others but the reports of higher RWHP you may see posted here are probably due more to a tune and other performance mods along with the LT's such as heads and cam, intake, hi flow cats and less restrictive exhaust all together. I would think that by changing your exhaust and cats along with the addition of LT's would net you another 5+ HP with a tune.

Enough that you will feel it in the seat of your pants. That is much more than 5. I did the same thing at first with no tune and it was 24. With a tune and removing the cats it was 37
