Default Tps? New Guy Question

New guy Question here. Just bought a 98 Coupe with "non-stock" wheels and previous owner did Not replace the TPS. Researched the site and I concur, really would like the sensors and previous data I see discussion convinces me to get them... For all out there, Can you recommend best location / reasonable price expectation for buying 98 sensors??.. Thanks, Not sure I want to trust old / auction sites?... Expert opinions / vette's experience appreciated... Joe:flag

Fichtner's Chevy, a Forum Vendor, sells them for $80 each. You need to order nuts and o-rings.

Not sure that they will fit aftermarket wheels. You may have band and glue them inside the wheel. If you do, search for threads on this. You also will have to mark their location so you can train them with a magnet.

Joe
Fichtner Chevrolet as mentoined above is a great place to get the Sensors. 800-234-5284

They are quick, have good prices and you can be assurred you will get brand new Genuine GM parts.

One thing to note, be SURE you tell Bob when you call there that you need sensors for a 1998.

There are two different Tire Pressure Sensors for C5's
One sensor is for 1997-2000 models while the other sensor is for 2001-2004 model C5's.

Gentlemen: Thank you for your expertise and in sharing this information. To clarify, the current wheels are from a C5 Z06(chrome), 17's in front, 18's in rear. I will need to order some new sensors, and I understand the key is to identify that they are needed for a 98, and that they should work fine with these C5 Z06 wheels? Thanks again for the assistance... . Best Wishes from Tampa,,, .Joe..

They should work fine with those wheels. You can get the o-rings at HD or Lowes - #9 o-ring as I recall.
