Default front tire width

I'm considering fitting the fronts with 255/40/17 b/c upon maximum rotation I can hear and certainly feel the abrasion the inner tire to the fender wall...or something. Has anybody ever noticed this?

If you only hear a rub at maximum lock I wouldn't worry about it. You'll only have your wheels steered that much at very slow speeds. As far as the tire size you mentioned, it is actually slightly too small. It is smaller than the stock Z06 front tires.

not just casual rubbing but quite a ruckus. Kind of feels like it is reading the tread pattern that makes the car jolt back and forth while maneuvering a u-turn. Wondering if slightly narrower front tire width would diminish this or relieve entirely the situation. Thanks.

I think the more important point is that something is wrong with your front end. Assuming you have wheels with the appropriate offset on your car, a 265/40-17 (OEM Z06 front tire size) will work with no issues, whether it be coupe, vert, or Z.

Sounds like you have a lot of negative camber in the front suspension.

Thanks for the replies folks. I will have it checked. So it's safe to assume that 265/40/17 (oem) will not cause any abnormal ruckus upon full turn at low speed. This is a bit troubling but better safe than sorry. Thanks again for the info guys.
