I purchased a replacement seat track from Fred Beans and when I tried to install it this last weekend, I found out that the mounting bracket was different. The mounting bracket on my track has a spot welded wellnut and uses a bolt, as shown below:
Now the replacement seat track has a swaged stud, as shown below:
I can't see how this new track will mount up to my existing seat. Has anyone else done this swap? Any help would be appreciated.

I too have general questions to anyone out there who has had to replace the seat tracks.
1. Why?
2. Who did you buy them from?
3. How did you get the seat track assembly apart from the seat?
4. Is the problem that Rich just encountered common?
I purchased a replacement seat track because the plastic connector between the rear tilt motor and the rear tilt bracket broke. Thanks gm for making a part out of a plastic that age hardens and then breaks. My 99 vert only has 11k miles so the seat hasn't seen a lot of use. And... you can't buy the 25 cent replacement part, you have to buy the entire seat track assembly for $480.
I purchased the part from Gene Culley when he was working at Fred Beans. I was satisfied with them with the purchases I have made. However, Gene is now working at his own company, www.gmpartswarehouse.com

Ran into this problem in switching a friends track. Think early C5's had your set up and GM changed to stud for later model years. We got around it but now sure of method. Can't you use a nut on the new stud by drilling out the hole with treads? Know we did something like that to get it to work. Will ask him this weekend.
Thank you Rich. I emailed Gene. He needed some information from me so I should hear back later today on all the parts. Looks like I made need the power switch on the side of the seat and maybe a seat control module. There was another thread not too long ago from another member that was having the exact same problem as I am.
