hey guys was talking with a mechanic today and was thinking of having a 383 kit put into the vette. (eagle ls1 383 kit)

Car is a daily driver. The car isnt at the drag strip that much. Going to have the a4 tranny rebuilt if i go with this setup, looking at putting at least 3.42 gears and a higher stall as well.

I was wondering if anyone has some recommendations of different valvetrain components and stall to go with it. dyno numbers would be wonderful as well.

keeping stock ls1 heads with the package. and im not looking for anything 'radical' but to make decent power.

From what i was told a 383 kit should put down a little over 400 based upon what bolt ons are needed..

thanks guys!

that doesnt make any sense. put in a head and cam package and you will easily make 400rwhp and dont need to change stalls and whatnot. my dad has a 04 A4 with patriot heads and a small custom LAPD cam with 3.42s and his car screams. it is really fast but drives like stock until you mash the gas pedal. there is no reason to tear apart your whole engine for what your looking for

A 382 stroker is a good power maker, but without heads it wont do much. The more cubes you get out of it will make more power but why not atleast have the heads worked since you are going to go with all new valvetrain.

Im not a big fan of Eagle, you are going to spend the money anyway you look at it, why not get something that can handle more and has better quality?
For the money you will spend since it wont only be with internals, ( oil pump, fuel system etc. I wouldnt spare the expense.
