Default Tire Pressure Question

I have non-run flats all the way around my 99' Coupe. I live in Tampa, Florida. What psi do you all suggest?
Thank You,
VF-007

I keep mine at 32 PSI cold pressure, once the tires get some heat in them the pressure will go up.

The small print on the side of the tire will instruct you to a cold temperature pressure designed for the tire you are using!

As stated above do not over inflate tire, it will up the pressure as the tire heats up from rolling contact on the ground. So set it at the recommended pressure for the manufactures specification!

Thanks,Matt

If they are the same size as the tire originally on the vehicle, then that which is placarded on the drivers door.

Actually it won't! The pressure stated in the small print of the tire is the MAXIMUM pressure of the tire that is not to be exceeded.

The right (recommended) pressure to use is stated on the Tire Load Specification decal attached to the back of the drivers door.

For instance. The Goodyear EMT's have 44 psi max pressure stamped into the tire but the recommended pressure is 30 psi.

With the alignment set-up I use (VB&P Advanced Street), I find that 28 cold which gets to about 32 hot and gives me even wear across the tire treads.

Aaaaccck !! NO NO NO NO NO !!
What you are referring to is the max pressure for the tire, not its normal operating pressure.

30-31 hot...so depending on where you live..I'd say in Fl to keep them at 27-28....but in the hot summer months when the pavement really gets hot adjust the tires accordingly so that they read 30-31 hot

Never use max pressure printed on the tire, that's a safety warning. Further, since the tire manufacturers don't know what car any given tire may end up on, they have no way of printing the correct psi for your car on the tires. A lot of testing goes into coming up with that psi spec on the door sticker (for handling, load, safety, ride comfort, etc). Always use that as a starting point, then you can make minor adjustments if you believe you need to. Personally, I use 30 psi cold, just as the door sticker says.

I use sticker pressure on my Michelin Pilots (non-run flats) and am finding it's taking the centre of the tread out. Indication is tire pressure (sticker pressure) is too high.
