I just received a NEW genuine GM fob for my 2002 from http://myworld.ebay.com/mykeyless/. the total price was $20.44 w/shipping. I received it in 7 days. They will combine shipping also.
you can try http://www.gmpartsdirect.com .. The 1999 are the only ones with passive entry. That's what I have. ( better without passive,, I had to get a new fob,, cost me about $95, but I think on the 99's you don't have a choice )

I got two off of e-bay for about $30 ea. Be careful though, one worked, one did not. These were the '97-'98 style with the passive switch (which I never use). They are larger and have the passive switch on the bottom of the fob. I don't know for sure, but I had heard some Forum members say that the new (and cheaper) fobs will work on a '98, but no passive function. The dealer will charge you to program them, but if you follow the service manual carefully, you can do it at home.
Please get the facts right before you buy. The cheaper fobs (2001 and up) will not work on a 97,98,99,2000. You must get the correct fob for your car. If you have a 98, the fobs for the 98 and 99 will both work on your car with the passive feature. The 2000 fob will also work on your 98, but will not have the passive feature. They are easily programmed through the DIC following the owner's manual or many posts on this forum. The older fobs are more expensive, around 60 bucks plus shipping on ebay usually. You don't know what you're getting with a used fob. You have an expensive car, don't go cheap on a fob. Buy a new one for around $90 and you won't have any problems. You have no profile filled out, so I can't give you specific numbers. I am just assuming from your question you have a 98. If not, post what year you do have and I'll give you a part number.

I use the 2000 fob on my 98, the passive is a PITA IMO. Also, I believe the 2000 car must have a 2000 FOB only. Could be wrong so check that if soneone has a 2K.
