Will I have any problem fitting 17x9.5 and 18x10.5 wheels on 245/45-17 and 275/40-18 tires?

No they will fit but it is not optimal for that wheel size. Something a little wider for each would be better. Like 265 ro 275 in the front and 295 or 305 in the rear. Hope this helps you out...

I already ordered my tires and I was thinking today I want a new set of ZO6 chrome wheels. Guess Ill just go with 17x8.5 and 18x9.5.

Those are stock Z06 size wheels, with stock coupe size tires you are talking about. The stock sized tires that go with those wheels are 265/40zr17 and 295/35zr18 fwiw.

Go to the head of the class! The wheel sizes you quoted are o.e. C5 Z06 wheel sizes. Conversely, the tire sizes you listed are for the C5 Coupe, or, Vert. In general, for a 9.5 inch wide wheel, IDEALLY, a 275mm tire is the preferred tire width size for that wheel width. And, for an 10.5 inch wide wheel, a 305mm tire is ideally preferred for that specific width of wheel.

HOWEVER, one can certainly go up, or, down one tire width size on the same wheel. Note how C5 Z06's are shod with 295mm tires on the o.e. 10.5 inch wide rear wheels. Initially, this was a factor of not only cost from GM, the manufacturer of the vehicle, BUT, of also, the very limited tire sizing availability within the Tire Industry that existed at the time when the vehicle was originally introduced. Fortunately, since 2001, we have far more tire sizing variety, and, model availability accessible to the consumer than ever before.

When I first got my 04, I bought C5 Z06 wheels in Z06 sizes. I then put the stock tires on the new rims. They do ift, but the edge of the wheels stick out a good bit past the edge of the tire. It's almost like the tire has to stretch to fit the wider rims. I have since gone to a 275/295 setup that looks MUCH better.

I wouldnt. I would sell those tires before I used them and get the proper tires. Just me though. It would still work though.
