I am the owner of a 2004 Porsche 911 C2. I have not owned an US auto since 1974. I am thing about buying a Z06, but am not sure about its reliability.( US cars still have an awful reputation)

You guy's have owed Corvette, what are thoughts. I would apprecaite your help.

Thanks

No offense, but if you have not had an US car since 1974 and US cars have such an awful reputation, why change now? You are entering the market with bad feelings. Just stick with your reliable Porsche.

Default porsche vs. corvette

Having owned both i lean far towards the vette. i owned a 99 C4 (porsche) which i got brand new and sold it with 4500 miles on it because it was constantly at the dealer. I've driven the vette from NJ to FL and from NJ to Canada and it's far more comfortable to me, and has a better seat of the pants thrill in my opinion.. I don't have any real seat time in a C6, but if the guys like it more than a C5 i would think you'll be really happy.

in love with my C5, but i drive my father's c6 every chance I get....compare the C6 to my uncles 2001 Carrera 4, no contest. C6 IS HEAVEN! Do yourself a favor and buy the calloway honker for it as well.

I'll bet you that older Porsches are no more reliable than a c5 or c6. Porsche costs at least twice as much to service as well. Most people have many trouble free miles from their c5 or c6. Just for your information, American cars surpassed European cars in reliablity in the last couple of years. I believe this is the first year Porsche was rated #1 in reliabilty but definately not in the past.

You think porsches are reliable... and vettes arn't????
And im guess youre looking at an 06Z considering u paid so much for your 911.

you think american cars arnt reliable then pay twice the price for an import and get half the performance. Good choice.

My grandpa bought a new vette in 63 (split window) then gave it to my dad who still has it and drives in weekly. 175 k miles on it. still runs perfect... Unreliable?

Saw brand new 977tt getting towed from a ralphs parking lot cuz it wouldnt start last night.

Both the C5 or the C6 are reliable cars. I think you will be pleased with either generation of car.

They are rock-solid. You will enjoy driving a vette and also enjoy keeping it out of the shop!
