I strip away the old debris, that hides a shining car
A brilliant red barchetta, from a better, vanished time
I fire up the willing engine, responding with a roar
Tires spitting gravel, I commit my weekly crime...
Wind in my hair ---
Shifting and drifting ---
Mechanical music ---
Adrenalin surge ---
ahhh...one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands
"Little Red Corvette" by Prince (or the artist Formerly Known as Prince)
Ahh... but that song has nothing to do with a Corvette. Although my mother thinks it does.
If any of you have not heard the Don Felder "Heavy Metal/Takin' a ride" song it is a really good driving song. A couple of lines:
"You can hedge your bet on a clean Corvette to get there right on time"
"My oh my how this lady can fly, once she starts rolling beneath you"
"It's not a big suprise to feel your temperature rise, you've got a touch a redline fever."
Also Fuel by Metallica and Red Barchetta from Rush.
