XM RADIO Mounting
I have my roady2 from previous car temporarily goose neck mounted from the ash tray. Way to nasty to share pictures of. Am looking at XM inno. Was considering ipod install but with my XM, and iQue gps and radar its getting real messy!!! The inno at least gives me XM and recorded in one box. Have not totally given up on whole new fully integrated system.

Its an XM Sportscaster.
I got it from Wallyworld about a week ago ($39.88) and put it in for a road trip to the beach last weekend. I've never had XM before so it was a little overwhelming with all the channels.
I have the antenna on the dash on the passengers side next to the A-pillar. I think I need to put it in the back behind the tail light like so many others do as I seem to loose reception on tree-lined roads.
Here is a pic. Click it make it bigger.
BTW - The red and black buttons were for my garage door openers before I installed the Homelink today.
Thanks -

I made the mount from black plastic.
I heated it with a heat gun and formed it to fit behind the console.
I then attached one of the cheap cell phone holders to hold my MP3 player.
It could work for one of those portable models.
I don't use it anymore.

It's the Roady2 so it's not very big but I didn't want to use the mount for the heater in AC vents like I use in my Camaro.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I think there are 170 stations or so.Just because GM has a contract with XM, doesn't mean you have to choose XM. Sirius is installed in everything from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Ford to Jaguar, Infinity,Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, etc. I have Sirius in all of my vehicles (Vette, Stang, F150.)
Or you can pick XM just because GM puts them in their Cobalts and Cavaliers, and other junk boxes. Oh, and you get Oprah Winfrey. Wow, I can't wait.

Other than that I like XM.... but in either case I'd still need to mount a radio somewhere and I'm having a problem with the idea of sticking it on the glass. I just think it's going to junk up the car. Has anyone else done it that way?

And from the other camp, or "those of us who don't research," XM has roughly the same amount of stations as Sirius at last check. XM also has live DJs on all stations, so you get to hear a human voice occasionally instead of just an Ipod-esque feed. XM has Opie and Anthony. We also have NHL - it's not as exclusive as you might have hoped - MLB, and important for me is live broadcast feeds from most if not all college football games and college basketball games. XM has about a commercial an hour, and that on only around half the stations. We have live traffic and weather from most major cities. And, our hardware is cooler - the new XM portable unit not only receives live XM while you walk/ride, but has portable memory storage for your Mp3s as well. The comparable Sirius unit can't even receive live Sirius - it just records Sirius while in the cradle at home and then it generously plays it back for you later. No changing stations, no following the live game while you run, just playback of what you set it for.
Finally, we had Playboy Radio. It was less fun than you might think and was dropped for lack of interest from the subscribers.

I traveled to and from San Antonio two weeks ago, about 20 road hours, and I cannot recall ever hearing a commercial. In fact, we got the Denali last June and I cannot remember hearing a single commercial.
