Ours is an original copy presented to us by one of the plant employees when we took the plant tour as part of the Museum delivery of our car. However, you can order reproduction copies, which are every bit as nice, from the NCM: Order Form

Regular Production Option (RPO) codes for the car as it was delivered from the factory, Order Number, VIN, (build) Sequence Number, Ship To/Charge To dealer info, Front/Rear shipping weights, etc, etc, etc. Below is a pic of our car's factory Build Sheet so you can see for yourself:
I ordered my Corvette and later ordered the laminated build sheet from the Corvette Museum. One of the more interesting aspects is that the build sheet provides both date and time your car went down the assembly line in Bowling Green. Just a cool thing to have

The build sheet is a very nice piece of documentation to have, especially for the Corvette enthusiast. However, the date/time printed at the top right of the Build Sheet is not the date/time it went down the assembly line. Keep in mind, the build sheet is produced sometime prior to the build start and accompanies the car down the assembly line as it is being built. I asked Adam Boca, the NCM Events and Vendor Coordinator, some time ago if he knew or could find out about the significance of this printed date and time. Adam's reply was that it is the projected production date and not the car's actual build date. Most people will find this printed date to be a number of days prior to the car's actual build date. In the case of our car, the printed date on its build sheet is 13 days prior to the car's actual build date.
Any GM dealer can inquire the GM Vehicle Inquiry System (VIS) for your car's service history and build information, if you can just get them to. (You might find it best to ask someone in the dealer's service department.) The build information portion of the VIS inquiry will show your car's actual build date. Also, several members here on the Forum have access to the to GM's VIS. If you can't get your local dealer do this, start a new post requesting a GM VIS history/build info inquiry for your car and include your VIN in the post. Hopefully one of these members will come along shortly and run this for you.
I've heard that the build sheet is inside the frame in the front somewhere .... is this true ?? and if so, how do I get it out !!!
I think I could see something looking thru some holes in the frame on the drives side, the frame section that runs from driver to passenger side in the very front.

i went to the factory last year, and while we were standing in line i asked the girl if it was in the front section of the car as you described .and she walked over and asked this guy in the line and he said that he was the guy who put it in there ,and to take a air gun and blow it all the way over and u could pull it out if u were very careful....

Hi Secret237 -
You have to have the front fascia removed to get to it.
From the passenger side, locate the black foam filler in the end of the front main crossmember.
Pull the foam toward the front of the car, flexing it enough to reach your hand inside the crossmember tube.
Reach into the crossmember tube up to your elbow - you will be able to grab the build sheet.
Recently, two of my friends were swapping engines from a 2001 Z06 to a 1999 FRC - and the Z06 had the front fascia off enough to get to the build sheet.
There were 4 other guys there, and none of them knew the build sheet secret.
I pulled the foam forward and reached way up in there and pulled out my very first C5 build sheet.
Very cool!

I agree Jack, I ordered and bought my car "new" and although I have the window sticker I never got a "build sheet?" So I too will send a request to the Museum for a reprint.

Yep, I got my laminated build sheet reproduction from the museum last last year, also got the laminated window sticker for my '00 coupe, about $70 for both as I recall.

I did the same and got them about a week ago. Nice to have.
