My car had been making a vibration/rattling noise from the center of the dash for the last two weeks. Yesterday, it was above freezing the first time in two weeks, so I removed the bra and set up to wash the car. Never got to the car wash, hose frozen solid, and helped my son remove a door latch from his Focus. I had to use the 'Vette today because my son's car needs a part, and he took my truck. Well anyway the noise is GONE. Gone completely! I have the GM accessory bra, and for whatever reason it causes the hood to vibrate. Has anyone else experienced this in cold weather? BTW, you can never have enough vehicles, my '04 Mustang is at the dealers getting the synchros replaced/upgraded (thank you FORD), my wife took the Escape, the Focus needs a door latch, my son took my F-250, so it was either the 'Vette, or a motorcycle. A 45 mile ride on a motorcycle at 18 degrees, no thanks, I'll clean the 'Vette!
Been having a similar problem .... sounds like its coming from inside the dash ... left side .. somewhere above and behind the speedo section ... hard to tell.
Been driving me nuts ... and come to think it ... i noticed about the time i added the Z06 bra. maybe ill check it out... Lots of hiway miles ... hate to driving it without it.

I had something that was a squeak / rattle. I could not find it. The wife and I went for a short trip in the Vette the other day and she said "your glove box is rattling" I thought it was the seats, seatbelt, dash, etc. I never did check to see if it was the door on the glove box. I used some black felt cushions on it (the same kind that you put on cabinet doors to keep them from banging) and it solved the problem. Corvette is not rattle free again

Never have had my GM bra cause a rattle noise in what sounds like the dash before and I've use it for nearly 6 years. Could it just have been that the rise in temp caused the noise to disappear? Is your hood securely latched down? Might try running the bra again and see if it still does this when the temp is warm.
Well, I bought the bra and installed it in cold weather. It never really had a chance to stretch out, as it would in Summer weather. I noticed as soon as I installed it, the hood became difficult to latch. (it NEVER was before) My Guess is the hood may be slightly distorting and rattling on the stops. The difference is like night and day. What I may do is wash the cover and install it warm from our clothes dryer therefore insuring a nice, flexible, stress-free fit. Anyway, it's worth a try.
Next time you have the rattle reach up and grab the vanity mirror lid on the sun visor.
That's where mine comes from, nearly dove my dealer nuts trying to find it since it only shows up in cold weather.

I'm surprised the car doesn't rattle more. You have plastic and fiberglass parts attached to a steel and aluminum frame structure. You push just about anywhere on the car and you get some sort of noise.
When I commented on this to a friend he told me to turn up the stereo or get a louder exhaust.
I had the same noise that seemed to come from the right dash. Looked everywhere to find the noise. Finally cleaned the seals around the targa roof and windshield and noise went away.

I had a simular noise in my 99 coupe. Lubed the seals in the targa and around the windshield and it went away.
