my car is currently hibernating for the winter, it will be a 4 month nap before i take it out. i changed the oil just before i stored it away and was wondering if i will need to change it again come spring or leave it up to the computer to decide.

Once a year or when the DIC says 0%

If the once a year change comes just before a storage period that is a bonus....

If you changed the oil before storage, then it'll be just as good as new when you first bring it out, so there is no need to change it again. There will probably be a little bit of moisture in the oil, but that will be totally gone the first time you drive it on a long trip. (20 miles or more that is)

You can just go for that long awaited cruise and forget changing the oil.

No need to change it when you get the car out of storage.

No, storage for short periods of time don't hurt the oil.
