Last week I found out what my bonus, tax return and raise is for this year. We have a pretty nice amount of money to play with, but the wife and I are committed to using it wisely (her school loans, etc.)
The problem is a friend just picked up his new C6 last week and is letting the mod bug have its way. We all know it is infectious and I am getting it bad now. Thinking about some engine compartment dress ups, powder coating rotors, and a bunch of other stuff.
I must keep focused on wise use of money. I think I will go listen to Dave Ramsey.
Be practical - set aside a certain percentage, say 15% and buy a mod or two; use the rest of the money practically. You will still feel guilty but you will be happy when you go to the garage (unless the wife follows you )...

We're in a similar situation, but there are lots of lower cost mods that you can do and you can always watch the parts for sale section on this forum and find good deals on mods from time to time.
I'm all for the wise use of money, we are working on my student loans as well and the hubster is going to grad school later this year. But what's the fun in life if you don't have a little bit of fun and buy something nice for yourself every now and then?
I am also a constant mod/tinker guy. I've found having that little bit of money to mod with is a good start. I've also found that most of the mod bug is driven by wanting to have it all at once. I deal with that and not the mod bug. I will have what I want eventually. Plus I usually wind up liking what I get when I've had a chance to think it out a bit longer. That's my way of keeping it in check...
Do a couple of things like Z06 screens or Corvette lettering in the rear and front license plate cover or the specs plate that goes over the ash tray door or floor mats with your choice of logo etc.
Doesn't have to be much just something to make you feel good!
