I pulled the trigger and bought a 01 NBM convert. It only has one key fob. Can any corvette key fob be programmed to another corvette? If so does anyone have one for sale if not anyone know best place to buy. I look forward to all you expertise.

Congrats on the NBM (its my favorite color) I think the 1997 - 2000 fobs are the same and 2001 - 2004 are different. If you are looking to buy one keep an eye on the C5 Parts section, they occasionally pop up in there for sale.
Since you live 'down the street', keep an eye on the SE section. We get together once a month for dinner somewhere in NOVA.
Thanks for the info. on the fobs and will be looking for your next dinner. The car is getting picked up tomorrow in FL and due to the weather am unsure when it will be up here. Am extremely excited.
I just received a NEW genuine GM fob for my 2002 from http://myworld.ebay.com/mykeyless/. the total price was $20.44 w/shipping. I received it in 7 days. They will combine shipping also.

Hmmmm....I didn't see any listed for the earlier version .
Go to the ebay site and click on the big mykeyless box. On the left hand side is a search. type in the year and corvette and it will come up. I went there and found what I needed.
You're in luck with the 01. The 01-04 fobs are plentiful and inexpensive. There are hundreds for sale on ebay, they aren't too high at the dealer. I have a friend in sales at the local Chevy dealer and he pulled open a drawer full of fobs that for some crazy reason dealers hang on to after the sale, and he gave me on for another Vette I owned. If you know anyone like that, take your old fob and match the FCC number on the back. They are programmable with your DIC buttons and only takes a couple minutes. Note: If you program one, do both or the first one will no longer work. Just follow the owner's manual or search on the forum for instructions.
Just picked up 2 fobs, now I'm worried.
So, like my garage door opener, if you program a new fob, it won't recognize the old one unless you reprogram it also ?

You must reprogram all your fobs at one time for them to work. You can only program up to 3 fobs.
Thanks for the info. Keeps me from leaving the other half with an unpleasant surprise next time he wants to take the flatcar for a spin with his old key/fob and I've just reprogrammed my new one!
("grumble-grumble d*mn her, what'd she do to my key?" I can hear it now...ummm..like when I programmed the new garage remote and locked him out..oops)
