Clutch Recommendation?
I'm taking care of a friend's 2001 Corvette while he is deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I have no experience with Corvettes or with the kind of horsepower you guys wield on a day-to-day basis
. The problem-
He mentioned that he thought something was wrong with his clutch just before he left. After my first drive in it, I realize that his clutch is just about gone... poking the throttle in any gear at any rpm will break the clutch loose as if you are slipping it. The full effect of the clutch pedal is realized within the 1" at the top of the pedal's range.
Anyway, he's looking for a decent clutch for somewhere in the $300-$400 dollar range, and so I'm looking for suggestions. He wants something that will be able to handle some engine modifications further down the road.
Also, what should I expect labor-wise? I've already been quoted over $500 for labor alone, which seems a bit high.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Avery
Btw, $500 labor is very reasonable.
