This is a follow up on a past thread I posted. I asked why my average mileage was being reset on occasion. Got a lot of answers but one interested me. Could it be the battery. Well, I watched and on very cold mornings where more cranking amps were required, my average mileage would be reset as I watched the display dim. But after the ENFORCR was warmed up or on warm nights, it would not happen. I started noticing that it was turning over a little slower.
So I went out and put a "red top" in. Well the engine now spins very fast and the DIC does not reset the average mileage on cold mornings.
So, your DIC can keep you out of trouble ... be aware and pay attention to the little things.
Yep, that is how I knew when it was time to change my battery as well. My average MPG and average speed were resetting themselves on cold mornings, or whenever I took too long to start the car after opening the door or leaving the hatch open too long. Once I put in the new battery, they stopped resetting like that.
