I Know It's Made To Perform. But Is The Ride A Lot Harder On A 2002 Z06. Then A C5 Vette ? Thanks Floyd

It rides like a production racing car. The base/vert do not.

actually the ride isn't bad at all. i take long road trips in mine to the mountains and i'm comfortable. it ain't a cadillac but for what it is capable of the ride isn't bad at all.

My wife and I went to Vermont to pick my 02 Z06 up last Nov. and drove it 1200 miles back to Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was a fine ride back, with a good amount of luggage too.

This Is The Deal. She Hated The Ride Of My 66 327-350. Sold It This Summer. I'd Like Another Vette. Wifes Friend At Work Buys A C5 02 Says The Ride Is Great. She Says Buy A 2002. Doors Open. Now I'm Trying For A Z06. But Don't Want To End Up In The Same Boat. I't A Bummer When She Never Wants To Take The Vette. Floyd

Hi floyd66 -

Actually - the Z06 rides much better than a stock "regular" C5 coupe or vert.

This is due to the better tires - the F1 Supercars are not a runflat, whereas the standard car has the EMT's (lovingly known here as "runcraps") with the hard sidewall.

The runflats ride like a buckboard.

When we bought our 99 coupe, it was astounding how much better the ride in the Z06 was when compared to a standard suspension C5.

I put the F1 Supercars on the 99 and it made a world of difference.

That is my take on it from owning one of each.

best regards -

My Z is on 19's out back and 18's up front and the ride is still nice. But beware of any big potholes!

Default Ride is GREAT!!

Drove my 2004 3700 miles over the Thanksgiving period. Wife has a fused back and she thought it was GREAT! We are not big folks, but the seats and the ride suits us just fine.

I can't wait until weather is better (North East) so I can get mine back out.

I do agree with the "watch out for pot holes". Low profile tires can be damaged very easily.

Definitely get a trunk partition ASAP, it will dramatically reduce noise comming from the rear of the car. Makes your stereo perform better too.

i'LL sECOND tHE pARTITION, mADE a hUGE dIFFERENCE iN tHE nOISE wHEN dRIVING tHE cAR...oh, hell, I can't type like that anymore...trying to make a funny about you using caps on every word - I reversed the process.

Seriously, adding the partition will quite the car a lot. My wife loves to drive the Z. Recommend you get he out on the road in one and let her drive! BTW, my wife does not like to drive or ride in the '82, says it is too loud but it's 100% stock.

My '04 Z rides as well as my '06 Honda CRV - and it's just as quiet. Gots to have a partition though.

Hmmm, faster too I think

Hi Floyd -

I was thinking the same thing as 2TONE82 - but I usually am not out to break ***** lol.....

I do have this at the ready just in case though.....

BTW - I have heard lot of good reviews of the partitions, but cabin noise is not a big issue with me.

best regards -

Hi Floyd -

Yup - you are right - I do my share, but not so much on the internet.

Everyone is a ball-breaker behind the keyboard you know.

Here - I made this one just for you -

I threw in the red x just for the future.

Just to clarify - I don't think 2TONE was breaking your *****, he's a friendly forum member.

best regards -
