aftermarket cd player install?

I just bought a panasonic indash screen with built in dvd player. I have never installed a deck in a car before but i am going to attempt the install myself... how hard could it be.

Is there anything i should be aware of before the install. i remember awhile ago i was going to buy a cd player from a local audio shop and the installer told me i would need to buy a special harness since the car is a c5 corvette. I kinda of think he might have been BSing me... any truth to this?

Just wanted to know if there is anything i should know or buy before attemping the install.

you can either cut and splice wirest or buy the wiring harness. IMO...get the harness.

The hardest part is mounting the head unit. If you get the harness you can just plug it in.

If you have the BOSE system them make sure and get the right box/module that lets your speakers play bass.

if your unit as a fold out screen (and is otherwise a 1 DIN unit) there shouldn't be too much of a problem. If you have a 2 DIN or larger screen....you're in for a world of fun
