I replaced the factory rotors with Sportbrakes D/S rotors almost two years ago. Before installing the new rotors I masked off the firepath and sprayed two coats of clearcoat on each rotor hat. No issues to date. I simply wash off the hats when I wash the wheels. The zink coating did wear off on the firepath after a few months, causing some rust when I wash the Vette. One trip around the block and all of the rust is gone.
I went cheap-econo with Corvette Garage Sport Rotor Package ($399 for all 4). These are nice, zinc plated and don’t rust. I wouldn’t take these racing, but if you’re looking for clean rotors, these aren’t bad.
I also painted the brake caliper brackets and added the stainless steel brake pad covers to cover the black pads. This setup had almost 2K on it when I took the photo. Not hard to keep clean with a daily dusting after cooling with a micro fiber towel. Good luck on what ever you decide on.
Go with Sportbrakes, zinc coated. I think I got front & rear with both sets of pads for around $299. I think I ordered them off Sportbrake's eBay store. Great quality at the price.
If you get rotors that may rust I can attest to the fact that spraying this clearcoat on the hats of Delco rotors before they were installed has worked well for the past two years.
