I currently have the goodyear runflats and was wondering if what i am experiencing is common. My 98 c5 seems to be effected by the slightest of uneven pavement. On smooth even pavement i can let go of the wheel and the car tracks straight as an arrow. But on verticle expansion joints or slight ruts it pulls like crazy. Someone told me that dry rotted tires can have that effect on steering. Anyone have an educated opinion?
non runflats helped mine out a bunch. but with the runflats mine did this with a vengance. tire pressure too high also magnifies this. you will not be able to eliminate it. but there are ways to lessen the effect

Check your alignment too. Try to keep your caster at or very close to 7* and that should help somewhat. If OK, lose the runcraps and go with some good NRFTs. You'll be amazed at the difference.

I wouldn't say totally normal. Check your air pressure to make sure the fronts are even( most do 30-32 cold) and a trip to the alignment shop may not be a bad idea, just don't let them charge you a ridiculous price to do so. The runflats are not the best handling tires in the world and hiccups in performance are common, but lower mileage tires shouldn't jump around.
I have been noticing the same thing in my 02Z. Tracks perfect on a nice blacktop or similiar smooth top, but if there are any expansion joints or ruts at all it pulls like crazy! I wouldnt think its alignment or it would do it all the time. I just figured it was a side effect of the wider performance tires (my first HP car)
When I did alignments on cars like ours I always added just a touch of toe-in, it keeps the car from "darting" and will make it track better in general...
