I read a while back about there being a new pully design for the alternators on the vettes...i have a 98 and when at idle turning or backing out of a parking spot and turning the wheel it shakes the car and sounds like its going to die, sometimes it makes the belt squeal?
IS the alternator pully what causes this, and what is the fix?
Correction: A new Generator with Decoupler Pulley and reduced damping Accessory Drive Tensioner was implemented for all Corvettes with automatic transmissions at 2001 SOP (Start Of Production). The generator with decoupler pulley is used only on Corvettes equipped with an automatic transmission. The reduced damping accessory drive tensioner is used on all 2001 Corvettes.
More likely the reduced damping Accessory Drive Tensioner than the alt pulley.
